Education & Training

mmu3I have a wealth of experience working within a cross section of industries. Brought up in Llandudno, a historic Victorian town in North Wales my career began working in the catering and hospitality industry. On completing a foundation year at Coleg Menai in Bangor, I moved to Manchester and achieved a Degree in Creative Business Development at Manchester Metropolitan University.

In 2011 I followed my dream and life long ambition to travel, experiencing different countries and their cultures. I’m now based in North Wales where I continue to grow my business and develop my professional practice. Its an exciting time to be in Wales as theres a huge amount of creativity coming through and I’m very grateful to be surrounded by the beautiful landscapes.

Teaching English abroad

I holds a TEFL certification and have experience Teaching English to Camodian children during my time living on Koh Chang in Thailand. The Proudly Open minded, Cambodia Kids Care foundation was set up to provide care and education for migrant Cambodian children living in Thailand who are not entitled to a government education. I spent 4 weeks at the Study Buddies school helping the children to prepare for their Christmas show.  The school is run entirely by donation, the aim being to reach a stage where it can be completely self sufficient.  It is a fabulous charity set up by Ben Steenstra and the work they do is so valuable and important for the children, if you would like to know more or would like to get involved please get in contact.

TV & Film production

I have experience working within the media industry, The Gate Films is the biggest television commercial production company outside of London in the UK. Film production is a very demanding industry and during my time at the Gate I was appointed as Production Manager for Gate Web Video with a team of creatives producing online content and tv/cinema campaigns for clients such as Vodaphone, Kelloggs, HSBC and The body Shop. Also gaining experience within Art Department and as Production Co-ordinator working for Dark Hour Pictures on location in France to shoot the feature horror film Unwelcome.

fifi_dress14Animation & Model making

I was selected to work as an assistant at Makkinon & Saunders, after completing the 2nd year at university. The company creates puppets for films such as Tim Burton’s ‘Nightmare before Christmas’ and ‘Mars Attacks’. I worked for the company during the making of Tim Burton’s film The Corpse Bride and was selected because of her attention to detail and the high standard of finish to my work. Typically making components for use in the mechanisms of the puppets, preparing the puppets structures ready for casting and making multiples of the puppets hands. I also worked on the puppets for children’s TV program FIFI Forget Me Not, creating the characters eyes, casting magnets into resin which inspired my degree collection.
